The wind (Al vent - Raimon)

Ramon Pelegero Sanchis, better known as Raimon, is a singer from Valencia. He is one of the best-known icons of Nova Cançó, a musical style and movement that championed Catalan music at the end of Franco's dictatorship. The movement used thoughtful lyrics to normalise the use of Catalan in public. To get round the censors, songwriters used many metaphors that ushered a new lyrical world into popular Catalan and Valencian culture. At a time without hope, the wind was the only cry for freedom. These winds were the precursor to the rebellious countercultural existentialism taken up by youth movements in the 1960s and 1970s worldwide, times when people thought the wind would blow away injustice in the world for ever.

Segon disc de Halldor Mar

El cantat i guitarrista Halldór Már, islandès afincat a Catalunya, acaba de treure el seu segon disc en solitari 'Winds', on versiona 10 temes de la 'nova cançó' en estil rock-folk i en anglès. El single del disc és 'The wind', el tema de Raimon. El 2009, Már havia tret al mercat 'Simple'.

Már, que va aterrar a Barcelona per primera vegada a finals dels 80 per estudiar guitarra i va tenir diversos contactes amb músics catalans, és professor de guitarra i integrant de la banda Wiggum, amb la qual tenen tres treballs, ara porta al seu terreny temes de Joan Manuel Serrat, Jaume Sisa o Raimon.
